Maple Syrup Magic Sauce Cake
- 1.5 cup all purpose or cup-for-cup gluten free flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar lightly packed
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk or dairy substitute
- 1.5 cup maple syrup
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tbs butter or butter substitute (Becel Vegan or Earth Balance Spread)
Preheat oven to 350 F
In large bowl, mix together the flour, sugars, baking powder and salt.
Stir in milk until well combined and pour into a greased 8 x 8 inch baking pan or casserole dish with deep sides.
Combine maple syrup, water and butter in a small saucepan.
Heat on stove over medium heat just until the butter is melted.
Pour the warm sauce evenly over the batter in the baking pan. Do not stir or mix.
Bake for 45 minutes.
This is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
